A living room for the city

Hashtag is a private members' association on Carrer de Sicília — two floors of deep couches under a backlit onyx bar, paint on the tables, a fireplace in winter and coffee from ten in the morning. Seven languages behind the bar. A cat named Lion who runs the place.

01 — The Space

Two floors,
two moods.

Two levels, fully air conditioned, joined by the staircase behind the bar. Downstairs is where the room hums; upstairs is where it calms down. Pick your floor by how social you feel.

Ground — the social one

A backlit onyx bar that glows amber all evening, tall stools for people who came alone, deep armchairs facing the big screen, and a fireplace running under it from November.

Upstairs — the quiet one

Ribbed velvet banquettes under a hand-painted botanical mural, low black tables, softer light and lower voices. Where the three-hour conversations happen and where the workshop tables get laid out.

02 — Resident

Meet Lion.

He arrived one winter through the back window, decided the upstairs couch was his, and has not been successfully argued with since. Officially he's our adopted cat. Unofficially he's the head of hospitality.

Lion is the reason the club is pet friendly. Your well-behaved dog is welcome — just say hello at the door first, so Lion can decide where he'd like to sit.

03 — Culture

Something's
always happening.

Events are free for members and announced inside the club and on our members' channel. No tickets, no door list — just show up, or don't. Nobody keeps score.

Blank canvases, brushes and candles laid out along the marble table before a painting workshop.
Tuesdays

Painting workshop

Blank canvases down the marble table, brushes in a jar, a candle lit at each place. Guided by a member who actually went to art school. Zero talent required — that's the whole point.

Thursdays

Game night

Catan, Uno, chess, dominoes and a backgammon rivalry that has been running since 2021. Teams get shuffled so nobody sits alone.

Monthly

Craft & customise

Patches, pins and stickers spread across the marble table at a customising night.

Patches, pins, iron-ons and whatever you brought that needs rescuing. The marble table disappears under it by midnight.

Weekends

DJ sets & live nights

The lights go magenta, someone takes the decks, and the front room turns into the loudest thing we do. Upstairs stays quiet for everyone who came to talk.

All day

From the kitchen

A platter of manchego, mozzarella and green olives on the bar.

Boards of manchego and mozzarella, olives, crisps, toasties and whatever the kitchen felt like. Vegetarian always, vegan usually — just ask.

A quiet lounge with a long sofa, a fireplace and a large screen showing a mountain landscape.
Every day

Nothing at all

The most popular event. A sofa, a coffee, the fire on, something slow on the big screen, and absolutely no obligation to talk to anyone.

The onyx bar. Ground floor

The floor

It is not a club. Some Saturdays it forgets that.

Down here it hums. Up there it calms down.

A live set in the lounge, the room lit violet, everyone on the couches. Live nights

Someone always plays

How you
get in.

Spanish law is clear about how a private association works, and we follow it to the letter. It takes four steps and a little patience. There is no way to skip any of them — not for anyone.

01

Fill in the application

Online · 2 minutes

Tell us who you are and how you found us. If an existing member referred you, put their name in — it moves things along considerably.

  • Full legal name, as written on your ID
  • Contact email and phone
  • Date of birth — you must be 18 or over
  • Referring member, if you have one
02

The board reviews it

Usually 24–72 h

Every application goes to the association's board. We're a small, closed association with limited places, so not every request can be accepted.

  • You'll get an email either way
  • If approved, it includes your appointment options
  • Approval is personal and non-transferable
03

Bring your ID or passport

In person · Required by law

You come to the club at the time given in your approval email, with a valid physical document. No photos, no scans, no exceptions — the document has to be checked in person so we can register you as a member.

  • DNI, NIE, EU ID card or passport
  • Must be valid and not expired
  • The name must match your application exactly
04

Sign in, and welcome

Same visit

You read and sign the association's statutes and internal rules, we register you in the members' book, and that's it. Someone will show you both floors, make you a coffee, and introduce you to Lion.

  • Annual membership fee, set by the assembly
  • You get one vote at members' assemblies
  • Members may bring guests only under the house rules
06 — Apply

Start your application.

This is step one of four. Filling this in does not make you a member and does not grant access — it asks the board to consider you.

If you're approved you'll receive an email with an appointment window. Bring your document, and we'll take it from there.

Your details are used only to process your membership request and to keep the members' register the law requires us to hold. We don't sell, share or publish them. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

08 — Questions

Asked often.

If yours isn't here, write to us — someone answers in one of seven languages.

A referral from an existing member helps a great deal and speeds up the board's review. Applications without one are still read, but places are limited and we prioritise people the association already knows.
Sit on a couch, drink good coffee, eat something, play one of forty board games, paint on a Tuesday, watch the match on the big screen, catch a DJ set at the weekend, work quietly upstairs, meet people from about thirty countries, and pet a cat who may or may not consent.
Yes — specialty coffee from ten in the morning, teas, soft drinks, and boards of cheese, olives, crisps and toasties from the kitchen. Vegetarian options always, vegan usually. Tell us about allergies and we'll be careful.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome on both floors. Please mention it at the door so we can check where Lion is sleeping. Water bowls are by the bar.
There's an annual association fee, set and reviewed by the members' assembly. The current amount is included in your approval email, before you commit to anything.
Members can propose events at the monthly assembly — workshops, craft nights, DJ sets, listening sessions. The upstairs floor can be reserved for members' gatherings. Commercial events, no.
We keep only what's needed to process your application and to maintain the members' register required of registered associations. It isn't shared, sold or published. Ask us and we'll delete it.

Come sit down.

Four steps, a valid ID, and a bit of patience. Then the couch is yours.
